Data

Saving and syncing

Aevo saves every change to the server right away. Open Aevo on another device and the state is there.

Design, language, working hours and the other settings belong to the account and apply on every device. The one exception is the quick capture shortcut: it applies only on the device where you changed it.

Without a connection

If the connection drops, you keep working. Aevo collects the changes and shows how many are pending. As soon as you are back online they are saved, and Aevo reports how many were synced.

Export

Under Settings › Account & profile › Export data. You choose the scope (this workspace only, or all) and the format:

Format Content Meant for
JSON complete, with every field and all relations backup, and the way back into Aevo
Markdown tasks as checklists, notes as text reading, Obsidian, Logseq
CSV one row per item Excel, Todoist, Notion

Credentials of mail and calendar accounts are never part of an export.

Import

Under Settings › Account & profile › Import data. Aevo detects the format itself.

File What arrives
Aevo export, JSON tasks, goals, notes, links, projects and relations. Without files and comments.
Aevo export, CSV the same without relations
Todoist, CSV tasks with their nesting and priority. The project comes from the file name.
TickTick, backup tasks from the backup
Any CSV title, description, deadline, effort, done. A column "title", "task" or "name" is required.

How to get the file:

  • Todoist: open the project, menu, "Export as CSV".
  • TickTick: settings, account, generate backup.

Good to know:

  • The import goes into the active workspace. What is already there stays unchanged.
  • A second import of the same file creates copies and overwrites nothing.
  • The file may be 10 MB at most.
  • Projects above your plan's limit are not created. Their tasks arrive without a project.
  • Rows without a title are skipped. Aevo reports the number at the end.

Deleting

Deleted tasks take their subtasks, comments and files with them. Right afterwards, undo helps. You delete the whole account under Account and security.
